Because science: Astronauts trap GoPro in water bubble

The results of the experiment aboard the International Space Station were just recently shared with the public.

Why? Because it’s awesome.

The astronauts of Expedition 40 at the International Space Station decided to trap a GoPro camera inside a floating bubble last summer — and the results were just recently shared with the public.

Officially, the GoPro was placed inside the floating sphere to study “the phenomenon of water surface tension in microgravity.”

But come on. You guys did it because it was cool. And that’s perfectly fine with us.
