PHOENIX — In order to honor military members and their partners, Arizona State University’s Gammage theater is offering a free night out for more than 50 couples in April.

According to a recent press release, the military couples have been selected to see the Broadway musical “42nd Street” on April 6, completely for free.

The show will be a part of Operation Date Night, a program that celebrates and honors members of the United States military.

“Its mission is to allow them and their spouses/partners a night away from the day-to-day stresses to enjoy a special date with one another,” the release read.

The couples will not only receive a pair of tickets to the show for no cost, they will also get a gift card to a local restaurant in order to make the most out of date night.

Operation Date Night is a part of the theater’s Salute program, which includes the Military Ticket Fund, Military Family First Night and Heroes Night.

All these programs aim to provide Broadway shows at no cost for military members and their families.

“42nd Street” is a Broadway musical based on a novel by Bradford Ropers and a 1993 movie that follows a young dancer as she travels to New York to follow her dream of becoming a dancer.

For those who want to see “42nd Street,” the show will run at Gammage through April 10.
