Main Street Minute: Phoenix dog lovers and their furry friends have ‘yappy hour’ plans

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.

• Dogs and their owners are invited to join Puff & Fluff on the dog-friendly patio at 32 Shea for a yappy hour Saturday. This informal gathering runs from 4-6 p.m. near 32nd Street and Shea Boulevard. The cost is free, but monetary donations will be accepted for local rescuers Pet Knot.

• Valley of the Sun YMCA is looking to hire more than 300 for part-time, full-time and summer jobs for 14 facilities. Family locations in Mesa, Chris-Town and Northwest Valley will be interviewing Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

• Shea Homes shelled out more than $7 million for 45 acres of land in the East Valley. The builder plans to construct 90 luxury, single-family homes on the property near Val Vista Drive and Riggs Road in Gilbert. Land development is scheduled to start this month.
