PHOENIX — Supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders are not ready to give up on his presidential hopes.

Despite falling further behind in the Democratic delegate count to Hillary Clinton after Tuesday’s results, the senator is moving on and looking ahead.

Sanders held a rally Tuesday night at the Phoenix Convention Center, where around 7,500 supporters waited for hours to get the chance to hear him speak.

Protesters were not an issue and the excited and very loud crowd was respectful. Sanders spoke for about an hour on a variety of issues ranging from free college tuition to healthcare to Wall Street billionaires.

“He wants to get money out of politics,” said Sanders supporter Alexander Lofgren. “Nothing will get done until we accomplish that.”

Thousands of millennials were on hand for the Sanders rally, making up the majority of the crowd gathered at the convention center.

“I think he definitely tries to reach out to younger people and he definitely gets a lot of support through younger people,” said Sanders supporter Grace Barker. “He kind of, like, thinks about the future, as opposed to politicians who kind of think about their bank accounts.”

Sanders supporters like Cort Boyd believe he has a chance to take Arizona in the March 22 primary.

“I think there’s a solid chance,” Boyd said.
