Phoenix restaurant has second-best juicy burger on Buzzfeed list

Internet media company BuzzFeed recently named the 21 juiciest burgers in the U.S., and one Phoenix restaurant not only made the cut, but it was ranked second-highest on the list.

The big WAC at the restaurant Green in the heart of Phoenix got the No. 2 honors on the BuzzFeed list. The concoction actually comes with vegan patties. Green is located at 2022 N. 7th St. and is a 100 percent vegan restaurant that features American-style comfort food. The big WAC is just one of three burgers on Green’s menu.

Here’s what BuzzFeed had to say about the prized sandwich:

Double the vegan patty, double the fun. Green’s burgers are simple — patty, special sauce, vegan cheese, lettuce, and onions — but their simplicity lets those patties really shine.

Behold the Big WAC. Omid and I always stop here each time we drive through Phoenix. It's just ridiculously delicious, AND it's animal-free! 🙂

Green also has a location at 2240 N. Scottsdale Road in Tempe.

Not all of the burgers on the BuzzFeed list are vegetarian options, by the way. Although the big WAC was the only sandwich attributed to Arizona, Hopdoddy’s Buffalo Bill burger in Austin, Texas, was listed at No. 17. Hopdoddy has a location at 11055 N. Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale, and you can find the Buffalo Bill sandwich there.

After all the BBQ, wedding food, and this all weekend long… I'm going to be need a bottle of Lipitor.

As for states, California had the most mentions on the list with three. The Brisket Burger at Acre in Auburn, Alabama, topped the list.
