3rd person dies from Phoenix dine-and-dash car wreck

PHOENIX — A third person has died from last week’s dine-and-dash car wreck in west Phoenix.

Police said Valerie Cervantez, 26, died from the injuries suffered in the accident that began at a restaurant near 75th Avenue and McDowell Road Thursday night and ended in a pile of twisted metal at 67th Avenue and Buckeye Road, when she slammed into a car at the intersection.

The passenger of that car and the driver of the other car were killed. The driver of the second car, Sylvester Romero, 31, had been on his way home from work. He was alone in the car.

Police still haven’t identified the second man.
