Phoenix-area boy dies from gunshot wound to head

A Phoenix-area boy has died from a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A Phoenix-area boy has died from a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said.

The 11-year-old was at home in the San Tan Valley with his father and three siblings Tuesday night when he went into his father’s bedroom. A short time later, the father said there was a gunshot. He told Pinal County Sheriff’s deputies the boy had been upset before the shooting.

The child died at Maricopa Medical Center.
