Walmart donates nearly $25M to Arizona nonprofits

PHOENIX — Walmart may roll back its prices, but they have not rolled back their charitable contributions.

The company announced Tuesday that for the last fiscal year, it “gave $24.7 million in cash and in-kind contributions to charitable organizations around Arizona,” according to the Phoenix Business Journal.

Walmart also donated nearly 13 million pounds of food to Arizona food banks.

In 2013, the Walmart Foundation donated $233,333 to Maricopa Community Colleges.

On a global scale, the company donated $1.3 billion last fiscal year, “surpassing the previous year’s total by more than $244 million.”
