Tempe bars throwing Mardi Gras party

PHOENIX — Calling all adults who want to mark Fat Tuesday: Several bars in downtown Tempe are joining forces to throw a big Mardi Gras party.

Fat Tuesday’s and El Hefe will combine to create one huge fête in the spirit of New Orleans.

“The back patio of Fat Tuesday’s and El Hefe are connected and there’s a big outdoor bar,” said Pearce Lowe, a bartender at Fat Tuesday’s.

Lowe said there is live music from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. along with a cajun-style menu. The party ends at 2 a.m.

Entry is free before 7 p.m. After, it’s $10.
