Phoenix-area city ranked one of the best in the nation to celebrate New Year’s Eve

PHOENIX — With New Year’s Eve right around the corner, you may still be wondering how you’re going to ring in the new year.

If you’re still looking for plans, no worries! One Arizona city has been ranked among the top cities in the nation to celebrate the holiday.

Scottsdale, Arizona, was ranked No. 5 in the nation for the best cities to celebrate New Year’s Eve, according to a recent report from WalletHub.com. Scottsdale also ranked No. 3 in the nation for costs and No. 16 in the nation for entertainment and food choices.

Other Arizona cities that made the list were Phoenix at No. 29, Tucson at No. 43, Mesa at No. 68, Glendale tied for No. 69, Chandler at No. 71 and Gilbert at No. 88.

Phoenix also ranked No. 5 in the nation for the lowest average price of a party ticket and tied for No. 3 with Mesa, Chandler and Scottsdale for the lowest average wine price.

Although New York City is often thought of as the place to ring in the new year, the city did not even make the top five in the nation. That honor included Scottsdale as well as Orlando, Florida; San Francisco, California; Atlanta, Georgia and San Diego, California.
