ADOT commercial vehicle inspection finds 30 pounds of marijuana

PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Transportation’s Enforcement and Compliance Division seized more than 30 pounds of marijuana during a commercial vehicle inspection, ADOT confirmed Thursday.

On Dec. 17, enforcement services officers at the Topock Port of Entry found three large garbage bags filled with marijuana hidden among retail boxes in the cargo section of a semitrailer.

Both the 18-wheeler and marijuana were seized. The driver was arrested and booked under a $100,000 bond into the Mohave County jail on charges of possession and transportation for sale of marijuana.
