Main Street Minute: Cox unveils 5,000 Wi-Fi spots on Arizona

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.

• More than 5,000 new Cox Communications Wi-Fi hotspots are now online throughout the Valley and Tucson. The first hotspots were switched on last November in the Phoenix area. Cox customers can access them for free.

• Phoenix Children’s Hospital earned the top three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons for excellence in heart surgery outcomes. PCH joins only five other hospitals nationwide to earn the top rating.

• A milestone for one of Arizona’s most-famous natural wonders: The Grand Canyon reached a record-breaking one million visitors in 2015. The one millionth visitor received a full range of Grand Canyon attractions on the house.
