Man escapes with dog from burning apartment, no injuries

A man was sleeping in his apartment when a loud noise woke him, which led him to realizing that his apartment was on fire.

The neighbors called 911 and Phoenix Fire arrived to see the fire in the single story duplex. Firefighters were able to corral the fire and save 80% of the building without any of the fire damaging any of the other apartments.

The man escaped the apartment with his dog without any injuries.

He reported to Phoenix Fire that he had did not hear his smoke alarm and has never checked the batteries on it.
