Tucson can add gastronomy to its list of accolades for its food scene.

According to the Arizona Daily Star, The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization selected Tucson as its first city in country to earn a Worldwide City of Gastronomy designation.

Tucson joins Ensenada, Mexico as the only two cities in North America with the designation.

The city joins other U.S. locations with similar designations including Austin for media arts and Detroit for design.
