Bundle up! Phoenix to see nearly-freezing temperatures in the upcoming week

PHOENIX — It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas: The Valley of the Sun is not going to be looking so sunny in the next couple of days.

Sunday’s high is expected to reach 61 degrees with a low of 43, however  Phoenix will see lows that are excepted to reach the 30s overnight.

With a possible rain system rolling through the Valley, temperatures are expected to dip into the low 30s overnight, causing chilly winter weather that many Arizonans are not used to.

Due to the near-freezing temps, officials advise Valley residents to cover their plants and gardens with sheets, wear cold weather-appropriate clothing like jackets, scarves and gloves, stay dry if possible and address any heating problems on your property as soon as possible.

Here is the latest forecast for the week of Dec. 12-17, according to the National Weather service:

As with most aspects of life, these temperatures could change any moment, so keep up with all the latest weather updates with KTAR News.
