Suburban Phoenix brewery plans to expand beyond Arizona

PHOENIX — San Tan Brewery is getting ready to lay a taste of its suds beyond the Arizona state line.

Just weeks after opening a 35,000-square-foot production facility, SanTan Brewing Company in Chandler is expanding across the Southwest.

Anthony Canecchia, San Tan’s owner/brewer, said his is the first Arizona brewery to distribute craft beer on a large scale to other states. San Tan has set its sights set on California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and the Lone Star state, Texas.

“It’s really not our intention to be across the entire nation. We’re an Arizona craft brewery. The Southwest is who we are,” he said.

“There are so many great craft breweries in the state and we’re excited to be the vanguard.”
