PHOENIX — One of the best restaurants in the country calls the Phoenix area home, a popular restaurant review and reservation website said.
According to OpenTable users, Kai at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort is the third-best restaurant in the United States.
The restaurant, which combines both Pima and Maricopa tribal recipes with ingredients farmed on Gila River Indian Community land, has been called “exceptional,” “idyllic” and a host of other positive words by OpenTable users.
Kai was ranked eighth in a similar survey released by OpenTable earlier this year. The Phoenix Business Journal points out that the establishment is the only AAA Five Diamond restaurant in Arizona.
Three other Arizona restaurants — The Phoenician Resort, Cafe Monarch and ShinBay — were also in the top 100, but only the 10 were actually assigned a rank.
Arizona’s four restaurants on the list is tied for fifth-most, while California and New York were tied for first with 16 restaurants each on the list.
