Three current Arizona Cardinals find themselves on Business Insider’s list of the highest paid NFL players.
Quarterback Carson Palmer ranks eighth all-time with $138.1 million in career earnings over 12 seasons. He’s still due to make money for the next two years after he signed with the Cardinals through the 2017 season.
Receiver Larry Fitzgerald isn’t far behind Palmer on the list, coming in 10th by making $129.3 million of guaranteed money — all with Arizona. Palmer’s favorite target this season made $26.3 million alone in 2012. Of the top-10 players on the list, Fitzgerald and defensive end Julius Peppers of the Packers are the only players who are not quarterbacks.
Can you guess the final Cardinal player in the top-25?
That would be recently-signed defensive end Dwight Freeney. The 35-year-old NFL veteran has made $96.1 million in 14 seasons. Freeney made $30.8 million, half of which was a signing bonus, in the 2007 season with the Indianapolis Colts.
