Three Valley schools face bomb threats

Three Valley schools reportedly received bomb threats, causing a hectic day for parents.
The Chandler Police Department said students and teachers were evacuated from Fulton Elementary. They said the threat came from a phone call.
Schools in Paradise Valley and Surprise also received threats. Paradise Valley Police said shortly before 2 p.m., staff at Cherokee Elementary School received a bomb threat. The school was then placed on lock-down.
Parents were notified as an early release of students was planned. Once the students were evacuated, staff and police conducted a thorough search but found no suspicious items or devices. The school returned to its after school activities by 5 p.m.
“We have learned that there were other jurisdictions both within the Valley as well as other states that responded to incidents that appear very similar to the incident reported in Paradise Valley. Our Criminal Investigations Unit will be working with those agencies as our investigation moves forward,” said Paradise Valley Police Lieutenant Michael Horn in a statement.
