A women now faces being expelled for breaking the honor code at the University of North Carolina by reporting her rape.
According to the New York Daily News, Landen Gambill’s alleged rapist has said he is intimidated now that Gambill has spoken out about the attack.
Students have the choice to bring their rape case to the student-run Honor Court or the police. The court found her ex-boyfriend not guilty of the alleged rape.
Gambill, along with some other students, filed a complaint against the University with the U.S. Department of Education that alleged sexual assault victims and their advocates were being discriminated against on campus.
Since Aug. 1 sexual assault cases are no longer filled through Honor Court.
