Scottsdale, Ariz. to ask for public input to update public transportation system

PHOENIX — The city of Scottsdale is asking for public input on its public transportation system.

In 2008, city leaders put forth a Transportation Master Plan — which is now in need of an update.

“The transportation commission is developing a new, revised Transportation Master Plan,” Scottsdale Transportation Director Paul Basha said. “Our Transportation Master Plan in Scottsdale is committed to providing choices for transportation.”

The city’s transportation commission began revisions to its plan in March 2015. Before they put forth a draft, they are asking for residents to weigh-in. Some people have already commented on the issues surrounding transportation in Scottsdale.

“They want to see much more extensive bus and trolley service and that has been our largest focus,” Basha said.

A public meeting related to the Transportation Master Plan will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at Scottsdale City Hall.
