NextCare offering free candy X-ray service

Valley-based NextCare, an urgent-care facility, wants to make sure kids don’t get tricked by their treats on Halloween.

Spokeswoman Jennifer Antwerp said parents can bring candy to one of the company’s 27 locations to get it X-rayed for free.

“Any number of materials will show up on the X-ray that you can’t see with the naked eye, like pieces of metal — or even plastic can show up on the X-ray — that you might miss otherwise,” she said.

The service is available Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
