Philadelphia Eagles fans to be out in force

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Philadelphia Eagles fans will be rocking the University of Phoenix Stadium and a spot in Old Town Scottsdale this weekend.

For the first time since the 2009 NFC Championship Game, the Eagles visit the Valley and their fan base is among the most unique in all of sports.

“They’re very, very enthusiastic,” said Brian Odle, who runs Blitz Sports Bar near Indian School and Scottsdale roads.

Blitz Sports Bar is the official Valley hangout for Eagles fans.

“After they score a touchdown, the fight song and Rocky themes are played and they’re running up and down the stairs and doing push-ups,” said Odle.

Eagles fans will rally Saturday at 5 p.m. outside of the bar and he expects a crowd of at least 1,500 people.

Odle said Eagles fans enjoy their beer and are great spenders when they come to his bar.

Directly across the street from Blitz Sports Bar, Eric Hilde runs the Philadelphia Sandwich Company and he’s excited for the weekend.

“I have [a picture of] the Liberty Bell right in my front window so hopefully it will give Eagles fans some nostalgia and a taste of home if they come by,” he said. “We’re 24/7 so whenever the Eagles fans run in we’re there.”
