Garth Brooks returning to Phoenix area on world tour in October

PHOENIX — Country superstar Garth Brooks will be making his first appearance in the Phoenix are in nearly 20 years in October, the singer announced Wednesday.

Brooks’ tour will stop at the Talking Stick Arena on Oct. 23-24. Tickets go on sale Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. Arizona time.

Although he has occasionally played benefits, Brooks has remained mostly retired as a performer since 2001.

Brooks was last in Phoenix in 1996.
