PHOENIX — Officials with the Arizona Department of Transportation are urging drivers to be aware while travelling on the US 93 in Wickenburg, Arizona, while construction of the highway continues, according to a recent press release.

Construction crews have been paving new lanes on US 93 north of Wickenburg for the past three weeks, but work on the new section of the highway is expected to continue through September. After the new lanes are paved, traffic will be redirected to complete the remaining lanes sometime in October, according to ADOT Spokesman Garin Groff.

“Drivers will continue to use the existing highway until sometime in October when traffic will switch over to the new lanes,” he said. “At that point, crews will work to pave the existing lanes.”

The $12.5 million project to reconstruct US 93 between State Route 71 and State Route 89 into four lanes began in February and is expected to be completed in November.
