SAFE Alert canceled for missing 62-year-old woman in Mesa

Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert on Tuesday for a missing Mesa woman after she was found safe, according to the Mesa Police Department.

Marina Herrera, 62, was last seen near 56th and Main streets on Sunday, driving a silver 2011 Volvo V50, when the alert was first issued Monday.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
