Motorists should plan for freeway closures and restrictions during another weekend of construction across the Phoenix area.

Roadwork will disrupt traffic on Loops 101 and 202, and State Routes 51 and 347 over the next few days, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation’s Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory for Oct. 9-12.

Here is a rundown of all the areas with potential construction-related delays and detours (all times are subject to change):

Widening project continues on Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway

In the northwest Valley, the eastbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway is closing from 75th Avenue to 51st Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project.

The eastbound Loop 101 ramps at Bell Road and Union Hills Drive will also be closed, along with the “Texas U-turn” ramp near Union Hills Drive.

ADOT suggests taking Union Hills Drive to reach Loop 101 at 51st or 35th avenues.

Stretch of Loop 202 Santan Freeway closing for roadwork

In Chandler, the eastbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway is closing from Arizona Avenue to Gilbert Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for work on a widening project.

The closure includes the eastbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Price, Dobson and Alma School roads, as well as the HOV ramp from southbound Loop 101 to eastbound Loop 202.

Chandler Boulevard and Germann Road are the recommended alternate routes to reach Loop 202.

Watch for this central Phoenix freeway closure

In central Phoenix, northbound SR 51 is closing from Indian School Road to Glendale Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for an ongoing pavement improvement project.

The northbound SR 51 on-ramps at McDowell and Thomas roads will also be closed.

Drivers can use 16th or 24th streets as alternate routes.

Overnight lane restrictions scheduled for SR 347

The last item on ADOT’s weekend advisory could slow traffic between the city of Maricopa and Chandler.

SR 347 will be limited to one lane in each direction between Maricopa and Casa Blanca Road from 8 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday and again from 8 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday for paving work.
