SAFE Alert issued for 67-year-old man who went missing in Glendale

Authorities issued a SAFE Alert on Friday morning for a 67-year-old man who went missing in Glendale.

Michael Barnett was last seen about 6:30 a.m. Thursday driving a gold 2008 Honda Accord with Arizona license plate 5VA230 near 95th and Georgia avenues, north of Camelback Road, according to the alert.

He was wearing a white T-shirt, dark blue shorts and silver tennis shoes.

Barnett is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall and 250 pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes.

He has a medical condition that can cause him to become lost or easily confused.

Anybody with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Glendale Police Department at 623-930-3000 or call 911.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
