Construction has officially begun on the Embassy Suites by Hilton at The BLVD, a mixed-use development in the city of Avondale.

The new hotel will be six stories and include 180 suites, opening up new opportunities for tourism, business travel and economic development throughout the West Valley, according to a news release. The BLVD already features a growing collection of restaurants, retail, entertainment and residential developments.

The project will feature more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and conference space, a rooftop bar overlooking the Estrella Mountains, upscale guest amenities and a hospitality experience designed to support both leisure and business travelers.

Other hotels currently open at The BLVD are the Residence Inn by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites and Sonesta Simply Suites.

The Embassy Suites was designed by Whitten Development, with the project initially announced less than a year ago. The construction and real estate development company has managed the projects of other major-branded hotels nationwide since 1999.

The project will create new employment opportunities and aim to enhance Avondale’s ability to attract regional conferences, tournaments and group travel while supporting local businesses and strengthening the city’s tourism economy.

“This groundbreaking represents much more than the start of a hotel — it reflects the continued momentum and vision for The BLVD,” Avondale Mayor Mike Pineda said. “Embassy Suites by Hilton will create new opportunities for our residents, businesses and visitors while reinforcing Avondale’s position as a premier destination in the West Valley.”

Completion of construction is expected by spring 2028.
