Man fatally shoots another during argument in south Phoenix, police say

A 25-year-old man was jailed on a manslaughter charge after police said he fatally shot another man during an argument Tuesday night in south Phoenix.
Police identified the alleged shooter as Deavantae Lowery. The man who died was 29, but authorities did not release his name.
Officers answering a shooting call around 8 p.m. Tuesday found the wounded man near East Roeser Road and 24th Street, according to Phoenix police.
The shooting victim was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Police said Lowery tried to drive away before patrol officers intercepted him and made the arrest.
Lowery was booked on one count of felony manslaughter. His bond was listed at $250,000.
