SAFE Alert issued for missing 76-year-old Phoenix woman

Authorities issued a SAFE Alert on Thursday for a missing 76-year-old Phoenix woman.

Sharon Joseph was last seen about 8 p.m. Tuesday near 56th Street and Thomas Road. She was wearing a white T-shirt with a Phoenix logo, black shorts and white shoes.

Joseph is described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 105 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.

She has a medical condition that can cause her to become confused and easily lost.

Anybody with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Phoenix Police Department Missing Persons Unit at 602-534-2121 or email the detective in charge of the case at phillip.fortuna@phoenix.gov.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
