Maricopa County hiring 4,000 employees to work general election

With the Nov. 3 midterm right around the corner, Maricopa County is looking for 4,000 temporary election workers.

Applicants must pass a background check and be a registered Arizona voter. Deputy Elections Director for Communications Jennifer Liewer said many different opportunities are available.

“This includes poll workers, but also workers who work at our tabulation center doing a lot of things in the weeks leading up to the election as well as in the days after,” Liewer told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Monday.

How to apply to be one of Maricopa County’s temporary election workers

Experience working with elections isn’t necessary.

“We have to hire for people to run our warehouse that will help us set up voting locations,” Liewer said. “We need workers to help us process the ballots, and then there’s even an opportunity to work in our tabulation center.”

Those who are interested in the opportunity can apply online.
