Man pulled from pond at Mesa Riverview Park and rushed to hospital
Bystanders started CPR before first responders arrived and took over medical care. The man showed signs of intoxication or substance use, authorities said.

An unresponsive man was pulled from a pond at Mesa Riverview Park and rushed to a hospital Monday morning, authorities said.
Crews responded to a drowning call at the park near Dobson Road and Rio Salado Parkway about 9:30 a.m., according to the Mesa Fire and Medical Department.
Bystanders pulled the man from the water and started CPR before first responders arrived and took over medical care.
The man was breathing when he was taken to a hospital, according to the Mesa Police Department.
The fire department said he showed signs of intoxication or substance use.
Investigators are working to determine how and why the man got into the water at Riverview Park.
