Luna Grill, a southern California-based Mediterranean restaurant chain, is holding the grand opening for its first West Valley location this week.

The eatery was founded in San Diego in 2004 and now has locations throughout California, Texas and Arizona. It is known for its made-to-order bowls, wraps, salads and flame-grilled kabobs.

The celebration will kick off at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. The first 62 customers to visit the restaurant, located near 99th Avenue and Indian School Road, will get free bowls.

The eatery is also offering a Kids Eat Free event. On top of that, to help beat the desert heat, visitors will be given free branded umbrellas, fans and agua frescas.

Additionally, the restaurant will be doing teacher and student appreciation offers for the new school year. It will also be holding a fundraiser that benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley.

This will be the chain’s third location in the Phoenix metro area. The others are in Mesa and Gilbert.
