1 dead, 1 injured after shooting at Goodyear house party

A man is dead and another is injured after gunshots were fired at a house party in Goodyear early Saturday morning, authorities said.

Officers were called to the area of Citrus and Indian School roads around 1:50 a.m. for multiple reports of shots being fired at a house party, according to the Goodyear Police Department.

Callers said they saw juveniles and young adults leaving the party while the gunshots rang out.

When police arrived, they found a chaotic scene including a man suffering from life-threatening injuries near Indian School Road and the Loop 303. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Another man took himself to the hospital for a graze wound, which he was treated for then released.

Indian School Road is restricted in both directions west of the Loop 303 as authorities investigate the homicide. Drivers were asked to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
