Motorcyclist critically hurt after crash involving car in west Phoenix

A motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital on Monday night after getting into a crash with a car in west Phoenix, authorities said.
Fire crews and police responded to the intersection of 35th Avenue and Bethany Home Road around 8 p.m. for the collision, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The man was in extremely critical condition when he was transported by the Phoenix Fire Department.
Investigators determined the motorcyclist was struck by a minivan after failing to stop at a red light while the minivan was making a left turn.
The driver of the minivan was not injured and did not appear to be impaired, authorities said.
The area will be restricted for a few hours as police investigate the west Phoenix crash.
