Avondale PD investigating ‘suspicious’ disappearance of 3 missing family members

Avondale Police are looking for three missing family members who authorities believes disappeared under “suspicious circumstances,” it announced Wednesday.

The department said the search for a husband, wife and their adult son began Tuesday after officers conducted a welfare check at a home near Indian School Road and Wigwam Boulevard and found signs of foul play but no one inside.

Authorities did not explain what the signs of foul play were or release the identities nor ages of the missing individuals. 

An Avondale Police spokesperson said during a news conference that they believe the family’s disappearance is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.

The Phoenix Police Department Homicide Unit was at the residence helping process evidence.

Police noted that there were also state and federal law enforcement partners aiding in the investigation.

Neighbors who saw anything suspicious or unusual were asked to contact the Avondale Police Department.
