Woman hospitalized with leg injury after rescued from Papago Mountain’s Hole in the Rock

Firefighters used rope systems, ground ladders and a big wheel stretcher to get her off the trail.

A woman was rescued from Hole in the Rock after falling and injuring her lower leg on Friday morning, authorities said.

Crews responded to Papago Mountain at approximately 8:15 a.m. for reports of an injured hiker, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Firefighters used rope systems, ground ladders and a big wheel stretcher to get her off the trail.

She was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
