SAFE Alert issued as part of search for missing 92-year-old Mesa woman

Authorities issued a SAFE Alert on Thursday morning for a 92-year-old Mesa woman who went missing a day earlier.

Olga Batista was last seen about 5 a.m. Wednesday leaving her home near Rio Salado Parkway and Country Club Drive on foot. She was wearing a brown shirt and blue jeans.

Batista is described as 4 feet, 11 inches tall and 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

She suffers from memory loss and has other medical conditions, according to the alert.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
