3 unidentified individuals caught on video throwing fireworks into Gilbert backyard party

Police are asking the public for help identifying the culprits after five children were injured by the explosion on July 11.

The Gilbert Police Department is asking the public for help identifying three people caught on video running away after a fireworks device was tossed into a backyard party.

Five children were injured July 11 when the device exploded during a social gathering at a home along Ocotillo Road near Freeman Farms Road just after 10 p.m.

Police released nighttime surveillance footage of the incident Thursday. It shows three individuals walking down a street. They leave the frame briefly and then are seen running back in the direction they came from as fireworks go off behind them.
