Arizona Republican gubernatorial nominee Andy Biggs was asked Thursday if Gov. Katie Hobbs was legitimately elected to her position in 2022.

“The reality is Katie Hobbs sits in the governor’s chair right now. I think every court has said she won, and, guess what, she’s the one who set a record for vetoes. So, I’m telling you I think she’s the governor and I don’t think anybody’s questioning that she’s not the governor,” Biggs told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Arizona’s Morning News.

“He still denies the outcome of the 2020 election and refused to certify Arizona’s electors, and he still won’t admit who won the 2022 governor’s race,” Hobbs said.

On Jan. 6, 2021, Biggs voted against accepting Arizona’s certified results after Joe Biden won the state’s 11 Electoral College votes. The congressional certification session that day was interrupted when supporters of President Donald Trump violently attacked the Capitol.

Biggs has denied allegations that he had anything to do with organizing the attacks or protests that preceded it.

“I think most Arizonans are sick of those discussions and are ready to go forward with the issues like affordability, like public safety, like border security, like education. I think they want they want us to be focusing on those things,” he said Thursday.
