Mill Avenue to reopen ahead of schedule before Fourth of July weekend
Paving on Mill Avenue wraps up Thursday, reopening downtown Tempe's main corridor ahead of the Fourth of July weekend, the city announced.

Paving on Mill Avenue is set to be completed Thursday, reopening the road ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend, the city of Tempe announced.
The final section of temporary striping is scheduled for July 2, finishing ahead of schedule.
The work marks the last major stage of the Downtown Tempe Refresh Project. Only minor tasks such as installing bike racks and final road striping remaining. The city noted those tasks may involve lane restrictions and nighttime work.
This project marks the first major infrastructure project in the area in 40 years. Downtown Tempe is getting new electrical lines, irrigation systems, wider brick sidewalks with artistic treatments and trees.
