SAFE Alert canceled after 23-year-old missing resident of group home in Glendale found

Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert on Thursday after a missing 23-year-old resident of a Glendale group home was found.

The Glendale Police Department said Danny Gonzales was found but did not provide any information on his condition.

When the alert was first issued, Gonzales was last seen Wednesday leaving his residential group home near 55th Avenue and Desert Cove Avenue, north of Peoria Avenue.

Gonzales has autism and severe cognitive disabilities, according to the SAFE Alert. He also is diabetic and needs medication twice a day.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
