Thursday is a big day for seafood lovers in downtown Phoenix.

That’s because Chula Seafood Fresh Fish Market and Restaurant is opening its fourth Valley location at Arizona Center.

Chula Seafood is a family-owned business that owns and operates a fishery in San Diego, providing a pipeline of fresh Pacific Ocean fish to the Arizona desert.

In addition to running restaurants in the Phoenix area, it serves as a seafood wholesaler in California and Arizona. The business also sources seafood from both coasts and around the world.

The operation started with one boat that fished primarily for premium Pacific swordfish.

Chula chef Kyle Kent was a 2026 James Beard Award semifinalist for best chef in the Southwest.

The newest branch will offer the classic fish options, sandwiches, tacos and salads familiar to fans of Chula’s other locations as well as several exclusive items.

The downtown restaurant will serve new signature protein bowls with poke, grilled fish, shrimp, beef and chicken options.

Diners can wash it all down with new dirty sodas available in flavors such as vanilla, pineapple, coconut and raspberry.

In addition, the seafood market portion of the venue will open at 8 a.m. Saturday to coincide with Arizona Center’s Downtown PHX Farmer’s Market.

Happy hour drink specials will be available at the same time as Chula’s uptown Phoenix, south Scottsdale and north Scottsdale restaurants: 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and all day Sunday.

Arizona Center is located at 455 N. Third Street, between Fillmore and Van Buren streets. Chula validates two hours of parking at the shopping center’s garage off Fifth and Fillmore streets.
