After the arrest, a search warrant was executed at Nguyen’s residence, where multiple stolen items were recovered, in addition to clothing that matched the suspect’s description during the thefts.
Investigators said the total value of the stolen merchandise exceeded $2,800. According to police, Nguyen kept some of the stolen items for his own personal use and sold the rest online.
Nguyen was booked into a Maricopa County jail on suspicion of one count of Class 5 felony theft, one count of Class 3 felony trafficking in stolen property and one count of Class 4 felony possession of dangerous drugs.
The investigation is still active. Detectives are working to determine if Nguyen is connected to any other unreported package thefts in the area and are trying to identify additional victims.
Mesa police urge anyone who believes they were targeted or who has information about the case to call the department at 480-644-2211.
