An 82-year-old registered sex offender was arrested after deputies said he exposed himself to children at Goldwater Lake, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO).
Deputies responded to a call at the lake around 1 p.m. last Thursday after park employees reported that a man was exposing himself to children in the area.
When deputies arrived, they learned several children were paddleboarding when a man near the shoreline allegedly exposed himself and engaged in inappropriate behavior, the sheriff’s office said.
YCSO identified the suspect as William “Bill” Baylor Lewis. The sheriff’s office said Lewis is listed as a level 3 registered sex offender.
The children he allegedly exposed himself to were 12 to 15 years old.
Lewis was arrested and booked on suspicion of six counts each of indecent exposure, public sexual indecency and disorderly conduct.
The sheriff’s office encouraged anyone who sees suspicious or concerning activity to report it.
