Drug dog leads Phoenix police to drug, gun bust

Three people were arrested in Phoenix after a canine alerted authorities to narcotics allegedly in a vehicle during a traffic stop, authorities said Friday.

Arizona Department of Public Safety detectives conducted a traffic stop on May 14 near 14th Street and Baseline Road.

Authorities confiscated one pound of methamphetamine during the search. Two suspects were arrested as a result.

This led to a search warrant for a residence near Central Avenue and Dobbins Road where a third suspect was arrested.

At the home, authorities seized three firearms — including a Draco rifle — along with three pounds of methamphetamine, a small quantity of cocaine and $6,000 cash.

The three suspects were booked on drug- and weapon-related charges.
