Ted’s Hot Dogs ready to celebrate opening of 2nd Arizona location in Chandler

Valley residents will soon have another spot to satisfy their ballpark cravings in the heart of baseball season, as Ted’s Hot Dogs is celebrating the grand opening of a Chandler location on May 23-24.

The site at Germann and Gilbert roads marks the second in Arizona for the Buffalo, New York-themed restaurant. Its other location is in Tempe near Broadway and McClintock roads.

Guests can expect music, giveaways and free ice cream throughout the entirety of the first day of the opening weekend, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The big ticket giveaway is buy-one-get-one-free hot dogs for life for the five lucky individuals who receive golden keychains. One of the five keychains will be given to the first customer in line.

The second day will offer the first 50 in line wearing Buffalo-themed attire a free hot dog. This festive end to the grand opening will also run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Customers will be able to buy from the full menu on both days of opening weekend. Besides hot dogs, it includes Polish and Italian sausage, chicken sandwiches, hamburgers and the signature Teddy Bar, which is a vanilla ice cream treat dipped in fudge and peanuts.

The first 100 guests on the first day will get a free hot dog, and the first 20 of these individuals will receive their own Ted’s Hot Dogs shirt.

Ted’s Hot Dogs debuted in 1927 in Buffalo, New York. Its founder, Greek immigrant Theodore Spiro Liaros, set up the first location under Peace Bridge, which serves as a connector between the U.S. and Canada.
