Tempe Police arrest second Mill Avenue murder suspect in Texas

PHOENIX — A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting on Mill Avenue in downtown Tempe last month, police said.

Michael Bloodworth, 21, was taken into custody in Houston, Texas, with the help of the Houston Police Department.

Bloodworth faces charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, unlawful discharge of firearms, misconduct involving weapons and disorderly conduct.

The arrest stems from a March 28 shooting at 401 S. Mill Ave. that killed Jacob Jaime Jr., 22. Officers responded to the scene after 2 a.m. and found Jaime with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. A second man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Aidan Zepeda, 23, was arrested March 29 and charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and other counts. He is being held on $2 million bond.

The investigation remains active.
