PHOENIX — Discount retailer Burlington Stores set an opening date for a new location in Avondale.
The store on the northeast corner of Dysart and McDowell roads will be the chain’s 31st in Arizona when it opens May 15.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 8:45 a.m.
Expect the interior to reflect Burlington’s updated design, with wider and more organized aisles and bold signage.
The company said that over half of the brand’s existing locations have already been modernized. Tough luck if you prefer the old style; the remaining stores that haven’t yet been updated will likely get facelifts by the year’s end.
New Jersey-based Burlington is known for offering discounts of up to 60% on merchandise for the family and home, including decor, apparel and beauty products. There is also new merchandise that arrives at stores daily.
The company purchased about 178 acres for a possible distribution center in Buckeye earlier this year.
